Blyk, free ad-supported mobile operator

Today MobileCrunch wrote about Blyk, a mobile operator that plans to launch in the UK in mid-2007. The company wants to extend the ad-based business model to mobile telephony, providing free service to young people. Blyk was founded Blyk was co-founded by CEO Pekka Ala-Pietilä, former president of Nokia Corporation, and Antti Öhrling, Chairman and CEO of Contra Group and can count on a high-flying team.
On the same line, two weeks ago I heard Eric Schmidt (Google CEO) proposing free ad-supported handsets at the Conference Roads to Innovation in Stanford.
How long is it going to take to get a free, Google-supported laptop?
